Midlands Printers and Stationers has through its directors Monica and Nelson Mashiri extended a helping hand to Kwekwe General Hospital fire victims staffers.
Doctors and nurses at Kwekwe General Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday lost all their their belongings after fire gutted the staff residence.
Midlands Printers and Stationers are the publishers of the flagship Midlands Observer, MashWest Gazette, The Star and Gokwe Cheziya Post under its stable.
To help in keeping the staffers warm The Midlands Observer made a donation of tracksuits.
Monica Mashiri was accompanied by Midlands Observer Editor Chipo Gudhe and Marketing Executive Gloria Machakaire and handed over the donations to Midlands Acting Provincial Medical Director Reginald Mhene.
The Midlands Observer has joined other corporates and individuals who are making donations to the hospital.
Mashiri stated that doctors play a pivotal role in our lives, therefore, the community should also try and make the doctors lives comfortable during this period.
“As a newspaper we are part of the community and we have to help where there is need, doctors play a pivotal role in our lives hence we should make their lives comfortable.
“As a newspaper we responded to a call of a fire at the hospital, when our reporters arrived at the scene ,they reported back that there are medical staff who had lost everything in the fire.The first immediate call was clothes for them to wear hence as a publication we saw it fit to buy tracksuits,” the Co-Director said.
