Zanu PF Kwekwe Central Parliamentary aspirant Energy Dhala Ncube has donated relief packages to Kwekwe General Hospital resident doctors affected by a fire outbreak.
Kwekwe General Hospital Doctors quarters were in the early hours of Tuesday consumed in an inferno following an electrical fault.
Eight people have been affected by a raging inferno at the medical facility.
These are three doctors and five nurses according to Kwekwe General Hospital Medical Supretendent Patricia Mapanda.
Mapanda has since called for corporate assistance and any other assistance to help the medical practitioners who have lost everything in the inferno.
Ncube has donated cash, blankets and groceries and managed to secure residential premises for the doctors.
“In total there are 10 blankets, USD $300 cash, two boxes of green bar soap, five cases of rice and tissues. We managed to find a house in Newtown to accommodate the affected medical stuffs while renovations are underway”, said Ncube.
He added that the business community should also take part in humanitarian works and they should learn to lend a hand when time of need arises.
“The event is sad because the structure looks like it was greatly burnt. It is not a problem for the doctors but also us the community because doctors are here to serve community members,” added Ncube.
Mapanda, received the donation on behalf of the affected medical personnel’s and said that the packages will go a long way in assisting the medical personnel in the face of the calamity.
“We thank Honorable Ncube for the groceries, blankets and housing provisions. It will assist us as resident doctors looking at the fact that the fire imposed a lot of loss,” said Mapanda.
