Redcliff to test 2000 of Covid-19

Redcliff Municipality is targetting to test about 2000 people of Covid-19 in the steel making surbub this publication reports. 

Speaking to The Midlands Observer Redcliff Mayor Clayton Masiyatsva said the mass testing has become possible after Redcliff has received test kits from mass. 

The mass testing comes at a time when Covid-19 cases are spiking nationally with 12 deaths and 926 positive cases. 

“We received a donation of covid test kits from MARS through Econet ,and the program started with testing of all our staff and starting today (Wednesday) we are now testing our Residents, the donation will go a long way in building confidence and at least knowing the status in terms of covid 19 as a town,” Masiyatsva said. 

The Mayor said the local authority is targeting to test 400 people per day.  ” Lets take this opportunity to get tested its for the good of our community and our status at large. Covid is real and we shld take this opportunity of free of charge to get tested,” he said.
