Farm workers steal diesel from employer blames economic challenges

 Two farm employees from the Mlala recently areas about 30km from Kwekwe recently stole fuel from their employer.

 It is the State’s Case that the two Edson Dzingai (20) and Tafadzwa Mpofu (25) last week stole fuel from their employer Chingwaru of Rozan farm Subdivision 2.

The duo drained 20 litres of diesel from a drum at the farm.Pleading guilty before Kwekwe Magistrate Florence Nago, the two said economic challenges forced them to steal.

 Dzingai told the court that he was forced to commit crime since he wanted to get send money to his wife. “I wanted my wife to come here in kwekwe from Gokwe, that’s why I ended up engaged in crime,” he said. 

Mpofu on the other hand said he wanted money to sustain his family.”I needed the money to buy maize,” he said.
Nago slapped the duo with a two month imprisonment with an option of paying a fine of $1800 rtgs.
