A Zhombe man is accused of stealing nearly 200 litres of super chibuku from a fellow villager.

The accussed 39 year old Stephen Banda said his intention of “taking” the beer was to force the owner to close his shebeen which has turned bloody, as people were fighting and killing each other at Brighton Moyo’s shebeen.

“People were beating and killing each other at the shebeen so i took the beer with the intention that the owner will follow his property so that we can make him realise the harm his shabeen is causing,” he said.
