Top Zimdancehall artist Clemence Mamvura popularly known as Killerman has paid tribute to iconic musician the late Oliver Mtukudzi on his coming album which is set to be released this month.
The Kwekwe based chanter said he has worked with various producers on the coming project.
“I am relseasing a hot album produced by Zim music top producers Cymplex Music, Jusa Dementor, Tman MountZion , DJ Fydale Thedon only ti mention a few,” he said.
Songs making up the album includes N’anga Huru, Shumba Dzaungana, Wangu, Wadiwa Wepamoyo and Samanyanga dedicated to the late icon Oliver Mtukudzi.
Killerman said Tuku was his inspiration.
Inspired by Tuku’s song Neriya which focused on challenges faced by the girl child, Killerman collaborated with Ras Caleb on his song Rita which highlighted challenges faced by a girl child.
“In April i did a song called Rita with Ras Caleb having realised how a girl child is being abused, getting in to marriages at early ages, the song was to give awareness to the young women,” he said.
Meanwhile, Killerman told Observer Style that the lifting of lockdown measures by central government is a relief especially for artists as there is hope that soon they will start to do live shows.
” With the loosing of lockdown restrictions we are now able to do live shows that gives us better income and having that direct connection with our fans brings relief in our lives as artists.”
