Zimbabwe Platinum mining producer Mimosa Mining Company General Manager Alex Mushonhiwa has died.
Mushonhiwa 55 died on Wednesday after a short illness.
In a statement Mimosa described the now deceased as, “a valued member of the Mimosa team.”
Mushonhiwa initially joined Mimosa in September 2001 as a mining manager a post he served until 2004.
He left then left the organisation before rejoining in April 2010 as a Mining Executive before his elevation to the post of Assistant General Manager in 2014.
He then rose to the position of General Manager in 2015, a position he held at the time of his death.
“During his years at Mimosa, Mr. Mushonhiwa imported an invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience and contributed significantly to the growth and development of the organisation. “He was knowm for his humility and visionary leadership. He had the ability to build and nurture strong teams,” the company said in a statement.
He is survived by his wife Nyaradzo and five children.
