A now South African based Kwekwe Jazz artist Silas Muchemwa is working on a new offing which is expected to be released in November.
Muchemwa told The Midlands Observer Style that the eight track album “Charayidze” is about hope.
“I am working on an eight track album called Chivarayidze the message being of giving hope to people who are facing challenges in these trying times and also to focus on what makes them live happily without focusing on the negatives,” Muchemwa said.
“The album is set to be released in November,” he said.
The versatile artist said he is inspired by artists such as Oliver mutukudzi, Diana Samkange , Prince Musarurwa , Jah Praiser, Bob Nyabinde and Aggah nyabinde amongst others.
Muchemwa has collaborated with a number of artists such as Gracious Maworera, Nyasha Mapingure and also Aggabu Nyabinde on his first album called Gogogoi.
“I made a number of collaborations one called mambure erudo with Gracious Maworera then another with Nyasha Phyllis Motsi Mapingure called Tendeukai, as for Aggah Nyabinde i featured him in my first album called Gogogoi,” he said.
Carter as Muchemwa is known by his legion of fans has been conducting online performances.
“I am doing indoor perfomances i am also doing live shows on facebook thus to accommodate all my fans both from Zimbabwe and South Africa,” he said.
Meanwhile, Muchemwa has expressed gratitude to Kwekwe residents for always supporting him.
“I want thank Midlands, Kwekwe in particular for nurturing my talent, i am lifting the flag high my music is now on international level for it is now covered on Good TV Africa which is a big platform representing Zimbabwe,” he said.
