Kwekwe man in court for insulting President Mnangagwa

A Kwekwe man is standing accused of insulting President Emmerson Mnangagwa and also making an attempt on the life of his ex-girlfriend.

Blessed Ndlovu (44) from Amaveni  stood before Kwekwe magistrate Samukeliso Gumbo facing charges of undermining Mnangagwa’s authority and also attempting to murder his ex-lover.

According to State papers, It is alleged that on the 17th of July 2020 at around 2100 hours, Ndlovu saw Constance Dehwe his ex-girlfriend who is now married to Retired Major Muchena at Chicken Hut food shop, Kwekwe in the company of her younger sister Prisca Mpofu who was wearing ZANU PF T-shirt bearing the picture of the President.

In anger Ndlovu is alleged to have shouted “Murikudya mari dza President tichazvivharisa musi wa 31 July and Mahure majaira kudya mari dzemadhara enyu e ZANU na President wenyu Mnangagwa manje tinozvipedza.”

Loosely translated as you are enjoying benefits from the president but we are going to stop it on 31 July 2020 you and your ZANU PF blessers.

The court further head that Ndlovu went on to attack Dehwe and Mpofu wth his accomplice Nobleman Moyo who is still at large along Kwekwe –Harare road towards Sherwood road.

“On the 17th of July and along Kwekwe/Harare Road towards Sherwood turnoff, the accused person acting in common purpose with Nobleman Moyo, who is still at large attempted to kill Constance Dehwe by persuing and shooting at Constance Dehwe and her relatives who were driving in a silver grey Isuzu KB 300.

“That is to say Blessed Ndlovu attempted to cause the death of Constance Dehwe or realising that there was a possibility that he may cause death, continued to engage in the conduct despite the risk or possibility,” court papers read.

The matter was postponed to 13 August and the accused was released on condition that he paid 1000  rtgs as bail.
