A self proclaimed prophet who is facing charges of stealing a chocolate amongst other delicacies last week left the court stunned after he left, the court in the middle of a session with his hands thrust deep in his pockets.
Rashid Takudzwa (23) who was arraigned before Kwekwe magistrate Florence Nago facing theft and unlawful entry charges has since pleaded not guilty.
It is the State’s Case that on 3 August 2020 Takudzwa broke into Gulez bar and stole 1 liter ceros juice, Pascal chocolate, some biltong and a 750 ml bottle of whisky.
When he was asked why he stole the goods he started marching out of the courts with his hands in his pocket where he was stopped by the security details at the court’s door leaving the court stunned by his strange actions.
After he was brought back he told the magistrate that he was a prophet.
“I am a prophet i am not a thief i came to Kwekwe to claim my inheritance since my father died and l have never seen him before,” he said.
The State represented by Ethel Bumure pleaded the matter to be postponed to 18th of August so that the accused could see a mental health practitioner.
