Community service for thieving security guard

A thieving security guard who stole groceries and meat from his employer was slapped with 200 hours of community service by Kwekwe Magistrate Gumbo last week.
Martin Kamhembe (33) will serve his sentence at Rutendo High School.
Kamhembe was charged with unlawful entry and theft.
Kamhembe who works as a security guard at Fidelity Security stole groceries from Downtown Butchery and Shop between 18 -20 February 2020.
Success Madziva, the complainant claim Kamhembe stole Jade, pearl soaps Royco soups and fresh beef from the shop he was manning.
“Your worship the door was not locked so l decided to take the chance since the owners forgot to lock the door,” said Kamhembe.
He said he entered the shop at around 2000hours and stole groceries worth $1490 which he wanted to send home.
“I have three children and a wife who depend on me
since l am the only breadwinner in the family. l earn $320 which is failing to
sustain me and my family,” pleaded Kamhembe.
