Redcliff concerned with vandalism cases

A spike in vandalism cases has become a cause for major concern in Redcliff.

Speaking to The Midlands Observer in an interview this week Redcliff Mayor Clayton Masiyatsva said cases of vandalism have reached alarming levels.

“Vandalism has become a serious cause for concern. We have tried everything to secure our properties but it’s proving a serious challenge,” he said.

Masiyatsva said that vandalism has seen the destruction of water tanks in the area a ajor drawback for a community faced with an acute water shortage.

The mayor said council was mooting the idea of fencing off the water tanks.

“The fencing of the tanks is in due process,” he said.
