Two motor mechanics, a father and his son were hauled to court this week for assault.
Portifa Musiiwa (45) and his son Talent (26) of Portifa Motors appeared before magistrate Story Rushambwa facing assault charges.
Tapiwa Ndionei the complainant was allegedly assaulted for asking what had transpired to his car which he had left for repairs.
“I took my car a Pegeout 505 to their garage on the 18th of June 2018 to be fixed and paid a deposit of $200, after four months Portifa called and told me that l was supposed to top up the money with $170 for the work to be done and l did as he said,” said the complainant.
After the alleged delayed procedure of repairing the car Ndionei said he decided to go and collect his car and look for another mechanic, thats when he said he found some car parts missing such as the spare wheel, two tone jack, battery and window screen.
Ndionei claims that he was assaulted for asking about his belongings which were missing.
“His son Talent kicked me on the nose after claiming my things and the father Portifa attacked me with a metal object at the back of my head, right rib and my right hand. l did not retaliate as I ran to the police to make a report,” said Ndionei.
However both accused persons pleaded not guilty, as they said that the complainant was the one to attack them first as he approached their premises with a stick and started assaulting Talent claiming they had stolen his car parts.
The matter was postponed to the 15th of May 2019 for continuation of trial.
