Landlady breaks into tenant’s house

An Amaveni landlady broke into her tenant’s house and stole goods worth $331 RTGS.

Appearing before Kwekwe magistrate Story Rushwambwa Catherine Muzekenya (41) broke into Anastacia Mapuranzi’s who stays at the same house with her and stole various goods.

It is the State’s case that the accused two ladies watches, red hand bag, surf, 4 water glasses, 3 coffee mugs, rice, cooking oil, tomatoes, brown handbag all these goods amounted to $331 RTGs.

Muzekenya pleaded guilty to the theft charges and said desperation drove her to commit the theft.

She told Rushambwa that she is a single mother and needed food and money to feed herself and her minor child.

All the stolen goods were retrieved.

Muzekenya was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment and 8 months were suspended condition of good behavior for the next 5 years.

She was also slapped with an effective 350 hours of community service at Amaveni Clinic.
