With the best team on paper in franchise cricket Rhinos lost miserably in the Pro 50 and T 20 games but because of quality of players at their disposal saw national team coach Lalchand Rajput and selectors naming seven Rhinos players in their team.
National team vice captain Peter PJ Moore and his Rhinos team mates Solomon Mire, Kyle Jarvis, Brandon Mavuta, Carl Mumba, Tendai Chisoro, Ryan Burl are part of Rajput’s provisional team for the UAE tour.
All of the seven players have played in the national team before and certain to get a run during the tour.
Those players selected for the national team played well during the games and they usually play well for the national team and produce good results as expected.
Observer Sport spoke to Rhinos Administrator Victor Mhlanga on the recognition.
“Solomon had a hundred in the T20, Curl bowed well in the Pro 50, Brandon had a few wickets and was in the T20 national team that toured South Africa recently.
“They have been in the national team and have a big chance of making the grade into the final team,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tarisai Rukanda who was Rhinos captain in the Pro 50 games left the club to join Eagles before the T20 games Peter Moore captained the game.
