Lions Club International recently commissioned a borehole at Rutendo Old People’s Home, Rutendo.
The club joined hands with Redcliff Municipality in putting up a water tank at the old people’s home to provide water for the aged.
“However the tank is a small sized one but we are working hard as a club to purchase a bigger tank so as to accommodate the nearby residents, this is so as Rutendo area is facing a water crisis,” said Sabelo Moyo of Lions Club.
Musonza from Redcliff Council said they are striving for the best for the community.
“We have people at heart and it is our aim, vision and mission to help the under privileged as the elderly. We provide them with accommodation, food, toiletries and now water is on their door steps. They no longer suffer from water stresses,” said Musonza.
“We marvelously thank all the forces behind this huge and profitable deed by Lion’s Club as it will help the elderly when fetching water; they no longer struggle to find water,” Councilor Pick Makanyara of Rutendo Ward 6 said.
