The Kwekwe District Darts Association is extending its tentacles to nurture and develop talent that will alternatively feed into the national team
Darts as a sport has been marginalised with little participation as its usually overshadowed by other disciplines.
Recently elected Kwekwe Darts Association (KWEDA) chairperson Tirivangani Nyengere said all that is going to change as they are focusing more on the developmental side.
“We want to rebuild KWEDDA and promote darts in Kwekwe from grassroots levels and also to produce as many players to feed into the national team,” said Nyengere.
Nyengera also said the Darts season is starting by the end of this month hence they are encouraging as many teams to affiliate and participate.
The Association held its first opening tournament at Venture, Torwood recently where most clubs participated with a few failing to show up.
The tournament is held in preparation of the Darts league.
KWEDDA executive has appointed Arch Bishop Kandros Mugabe, Jimmy Magodora and Gibson Jirongo as their patrons.
