Central Region Soccer League (CRSL) Chairperson Stanley Chapeta has expressed interest to be part of the ZIFA National Committee Board Member.
Chapeta was recently given a fresh mandate to lead football affairs of the Central Region.
ZIFA has announced the 1st of December as the election date.
The ZIFA Electoral Committee announced the fees to be paid for the participation in the National Executive, Premier Soccer League, Women Football, Regions, Provinces and Beach Football.
“l managed to bring competition in the Central Regions League and find a sponsorship that made me to trust myself by competing at the national level elections,” Chapeta recently said in an interview.
He said that his aim to compete for the board member position was to assist in the development of football and to stabilise the board as a result of his very wide experience in football administration.
“In my life l was a person who occupied many positions for example I was the treasure for Chrome Stars, Chairperson and manager that made me want to occupy the top positions.
“The ZIFA committee wants 5 years within the football structure and that is the first priority to contest at the national level,” he said.
He added that in the Central Region he has managed to bring more participants in the league albeit economic challenges currently experienced which have also not spared football.
Chapeta stressed out that his work in the league can be seen by the clubs in the region and members of the ZIFA Midlands Province.
“Many people have a wrong perspective when they are elected to be in the football administration,” he said.
