A Redcliff man heavily belaboured his wife for suspecting her to be having an affair with their landlord.

It is the state’s case that on the 26th of October 2018, Jeremia Tsikai (32) assaulted Sinikiwe Mtisi after framing her that she was having an affair with his landlord.

The complainant proceeded to the police station where she made a report about the case.

Tsikai appeared before Kwekwe Magistrate Story Rushambwa.

According to State papers the accused belaboured Mtisi all over her body resulting in her sustaining serious injuries.

In defence, Tsikai told the court that on the day in question he was drunk and couldnt control himself so that’s when he assaulted his wife.

An exhibit was produced by the court to show that the complainant sustained some injuries through a medical report.

“l didn’t have the intention to beat my wife but its only that l was under the influence of alcohol,” said Tsikai.

Magistrate Rushambwa dismissed the statement saying that is he was not supposed to hide behind alcohol but was his intention to beat his wife for suspecting her to be having an affair with their landlord.

He further explained to the court that the accused must have a better reason to defend himself.

The accused was given 200 hours community service at George Hill Primary School which he will finish in week.
