Dendairy gains Central Region promotion

ZIFA Central Region Division 2 debutants Dendairy FC have been promoted into the Central Soccer League Division (CSL).

The Solomon Kaseke and his assistant Austin Mutimba led youthful side enjoyed a fairytale run in their maiden season in the lower league with 22 unbeaten games.

The team’s youngest player 16 year old Michael Zimba a student at Kernville College was a marvel to watch. To add icing to their sweet performance was their gunslinger talented Milton Zuze who found the back of the net 13 times.

Dendairy have been perched on the summit of the lower league for the greater part of the season.

Left with one game the delight manufactures on Sunday thrashed closest rival Tanex 4-1.

The Gokwe prison correctional side Tanex and arch rivals Nembudziya were involved in the promotional jigsaw and finally lost out on Sunday. Dendairy now sits on 58 points only losing 1-0 away to Redcliff. Club secretary Keith Chitemere is elated with the promotion. “We are excited with the promotion the team managed to fulfil our ambitions and played exciting football. We also thank our fans for being there for us supporting the team; we urge them to continue supporting us in the next season,” he said. The team is also comprised of sons’ of late former great players who played together at Chrome stars. the  There is goalkeeper Veremu Phiri son of the late bustling striker Danisa Phiri while at the back its like father like son as Stanely Nagoli Marshalls the defence like his late father Mavhuto Nagoli. Meanwhile, Dendairy will continue using Mbizo stadium as their home ground.
