Kernville College is appealing for donations from the corporate world to assist the learning institution in terms of sport.
This year the college has given scholarships to eleven students who are talented in sport.
The institution’s Sports Director Tashinga Mugabe said the school is facing challenges to fund sporting activities.
“As a school we are facing serious financial challenges in the process this has adversely affected our sporting activities. We want to assist the learners not only to fulfil their dreams but also nurture them in sport,” said Mugabe.
He challenged local corporations such as Dendairy and Zimasco to at least come on board and assist.
“Big companies such as Zimasco and Dendairy should also put a helping hand to their local school because they will be also giving back to the society,” he added.
School headmaster Jimmy Mphalale said the school is committed to support learners in the area of sports.
“There are many talented young people out there who are not brilliant in school but they have talents in different fields that they can make a live it out of it. As a school we are there to fulfil children to prosper in life so we do this by looking at their talents and we will help them,” he said.
