Kwekwe Anglican Youth Association (KAYA) has donated 195 cups to Kwekwe General Hospital as part of their corporate social responsibility.
KAYA Chaplain Reverend Emmanuel Phiri speaking at the ceremony said the donation is the churches’ way of assisting the health facility.
“Since our hospital carries a huge number of patients, we decided to donate cups adding to the ones that the hospital already has as part of our corporate social responsibility,” Phiri said.
The community Phiri argues has a huge role to play in assisting institutions such as the Hospitals and Prisons.
“As a community we are expected to render assistance to the needy in the society and also reach out to institutions such as hospitals and prisons with the little that we have,” he added.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Kwekwe General Medical Superintendent Patricia Mapanda, Sister in Charge, Nyarai Mukotiwa applauded Anglican for the gesture.
“What you have done for this hospital will forever be remembered as the cups that you have donated will go a long a way in assisting the hospital,” Mukotiwa said.
